8-1 IS NUMBER #1

WELCOME TO YOUR GRADUATING YEAR AT CHRIST THE KING SCHOOL!

Our eighth grade year is off to a wonderful start!  We are already half way into the second quarter with Thanksgiving right around the corner.  Confirmation preparation is complete and 68 students will receive the gifts of the Holy Spirit Friday evening, November 16,2007.  The students have worked very hard to prepare for this big step in their growth as a Catholic.  The ceremony will be followed by a family dinner in the school gym.  Bishop Lucas will be the guest of honor!

Remember: Students are responsible for 30 service hours this year.  Fifteen hours will be due prior to Confirmation.  The balance of the hours will be due when the students graduate in May, 2008.

High school is right around the corner.  The eighth graders who plan to enter Sacred Heart-Griffin in August, 2008, will be taking their placement tests early December.  Representatives from the high school were at Christ The King mid November to invite the eight graders to their open house and to discuss the placement exams.  Our students are well prepared!

We have a fierce competition in the junior high right now between the seventh and eighth grades.  We are collecting items for the Thanksgiving food baskets and the Senior Services Center in Springfield.  The winning grade level will receive a non-uniform day.

Parent Teacher conferences are Monday, November 19th and Tuesday, November 20th.  Midterms will be handed out at that time.  Thanksgiving vacation begins at 1:45 PM on Monday, November 19,2007.  The students return to school the following Monday, November 26,2007.

We are all examples to the rest of the school.
