Meet the Principal

Hello!  My name is Jeanine Kolb, and I am the principal of Christ the King School in Springfield, Illinois.  Welcome to our website. I would like to take this time to thank everyone that has had a hand in making our school a success.

I would like to tell you a little bit about myself.  I grew up in Hammond, Indiana, about thirty miles north of Gary, Indiana.  I went to St. Casimir Grade School and Bishop Noll High School.  I attended Alverno University, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  After graduating from college, I married Joe Kolb, and we had three children. I also have three grandchildren who I enjoy spending my free time with.

My favorite food is Chinese, and my favorite color is red.  I apologize to all of you cat lovers, but I do like dogs better than cats.

My first teaching job was in the Hammond Public School District.  Christ the King is the first Catholic school that I have taught in.  I have been here for twenty years.  I was the 7th and 8th grade science teacher for fourteen years and have been the principal for the last six years.  I have been an educator for thirty-two years.

I believe in Catholic education, having received all of my education in Catholic institutions. The decision you make to send your children here speaks to your belief in the value of Catholic Education, and I believe that this school is the best place to receive that education.

Christ the King School is a wonderful school and we are always looking for ways to improve what we do here.  You, our parents, are very much part of what makes Christ the King such a special place. The spirit of cooperation that exists here allows us to provide the best education possible to all our students.

Everyday we pray for everyone connected to the school. Please remember to keep all of us in your prayers as we strive to continue the work of Jesus in the world.

Please be kind to one another and remember to do your very best today (Mrs. Kolb tells us this everyday during prayers and announcements).
